  1. I like the details you were able to clarify in your drawing: the fabric of the clothes and helmet coverings, the web pouches, the rifle, etc. And the flag definitely feels like it’s moving as the men are raising it. Well done! That’s a good birthday present.

  2. Hopefully in a few hours…Finished drawing it, just inking it now.

  3. With pen, although digitally can be a lot cleaner, depending on the look you want.

  4. Yeah, you should definitely give it a try. It’s hard to get the variations of greys with a pen that you can, and do, with pencil, but it’s fun to sketch something out, ink over it, and then erase the pencil and see what you’ve done. Although you can create some good depth by leaving in the initial pencil sketch. And I finally finished my picture and posted it. I overinked the hands a bit I think, but it’s done.

  5. By the way I reread your comment on my drawing the whole way through again and I realized I hadn’t answered you; yeah, I used the pen for both the dark and the light parts, just more solidly for the dark parts, and yeah I went to college for art, although it wasn’t an art school, so I got my B.A. in studio arts, not a B.F.A. Are you looking into art school?
